This deserves a longer entry than I have time for right now, but has it occurred to anyone else that the A.L.I.C.E. effort is a version of the Cyc "A.I. through reasoning with common sense" approach specialized for chatterbots? Well, yes, and it is called CyN (the things you find when you go to look stuff up to write about...)
